He had been prohibited from returning to the magnet school.<br /><br />Superintendent David Snead said the arrest could jeopardize an upcoming hearing about Macharelli&#39;s future with the district.<br /><br />The boxes were originally suspected to contain school supplies, but police would not confirm their contents late Monday night.<br /><br />When police frisked Macharelli, they found a stun gun and a folding knife, Police Chief Neil O&#39;Leary told the newspaper.<br /><br />Macharelli was charged with first-degree burglary, carrying a dangerous weapon and attempted sixth-degree larceny. He was being held on $250,000 bail.<br /><br />Macharelli was suspended in June, after he was charged with shoplifting sneakers from a downtown Waterbury mall. He was granted accelerated rehabilitation in that case, meaning the case could be dismissed if no new charges are filed within a year.<br /><br />Macharelli was also suspended for three days this spring for allegedly yelling and threatening parents after finding damage to the magnet school&#39;s auditorium after a production of &quot;Annie.&quot;<br /><br />Macharelli, who has been a Waterbury educator for 31 years, has said he is being treated for depression and his medication is to blame for his erratic behavior.<br /><br />
