MAN, 29, CHARGED IN MURDER OF FRIEND
  A 29-year-old Akron man has been indicted by a Summit County grand jury and charged with the attempted murder of his former girlfriend. Duane P. Gibson of Joy Avenue is accused of threatening to kill the 24-year-old woman with a hammer on July 26 after she tried to break off the relationship. Police said Gibson also forced the woman to swallow 41 anti-depressant pills that had been prescribed for him. The woman was treated at a hospital. Gibson was to be arraigned today.
