SOUTH SIOUX CITY, Neb (KTIV) -

Police say 47 year old Kelly Alspach died around October 14th.

Her body was discovered by police in her home at 300 East 23rd Street a week later.

Police have determined that she died of asphyxiation caused by a blunt blow to the head that knocked her unconscious.

Officers say they found her body in a hidden position on the ground floor of the house.

"She was in a position where when she was on the ground she couldn't breathe," said Andy Backman South Sioux City Police Investigator.

Her live-in boyfriend, 53 year old John Baker, is wanted for second degree murder.

They say he was last seen on October 18th hitchhiking in Norfolk.

Police say he is not a threat to the public, and call this an isolated domestic incident.

He may have an ankle cast and walks with a cane due to a recent surgery.

He is no longer wearing a beard.

Back on October 12th, police say they got a call from Baker's family concerned because they couldn't find him and worried about whether he was taking medication for depression.

Then the next day, Alspach's coworkers contacted police because they hadn't seen her in four days.

Police say John had called her work saying there was a family emergency in Texas and that Kelly wouldn't be into work.
