A UNM Police officer went to the UNM Mental Health Center after a woman jumped out of a moving vehicle. The officer met with the woman's son who said he was taking his mother to the hospital because she was having suicidal thoughts. The man told police that his mother was bipolar and hadn't taken her medications since November. He said he took his mother to the Emergency Room, but the visit didn't help her. He told police he was taking her to the Mental Health Center when she jumped out of the car and started running down the street. Police searched for the woman but couldn't find her. Later, the officer received a call from UNM Hospital Security that the woman had checked herself into the Mental Health Center.
