An educator incapacitated by a depressive problems shot and killed his mother and then shot himself in the head.
The incident occurred on Thursday at 11:30 p. m. inside the home they shared, which is located in the town of nests of Hato Viejo de Santa Cruz, Guanacaste.
The Judicial Investigation Agency (OIJ) identified the deceased as Rita del Carmen Ortega Alcocer, 64, who was a teacher retiree.
Meanwhile, the abuser is an educator named Vargas, 36, who shot himself in the right temple. Vargas was born alive at the Clinic of Santa Cruz, where he was sent to Hospital annexation, in Nicoya, and last night remained in the Hospital Mexico in San Jose. His condition was very delicate.

OIJ presume que fallecida e hijo discutieron por un asunto personal
Óliver PérezSanta Cruz, Guanacaste. Un educador incapacitado por un problema depresivo mató a balazos a su madre y luego se disparó en la cabeza.
El hecho se produjo el jueves a las 11:30 p. m. dentro de la vivienda que compartían, la cual está situada en la localidad de Las Tecas de Hato Viejo de Santa Cruz, Guanacaste.
El Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) identificó a la fallecida como Rita del Carmen Ortega Alcócer, de 64 años, quien era una maestra pensionada.
En tanto, el agresor es un educador de apellido Vargas, de 36 años, quien se disparó en la sien derecha. Vargas fue llevado con vida a la Clínica de Santa Cruz, de donde lo remitieron al Hospital La Anexión, en Nicoya, y anoche permanecía en el Hospital México, en San José. Su estado era muy delicado.
Conmoción. Este caso trascendió cuando la novia de Vargas y un hermano, quienes dormían en la vivienda, alertaron a la Fuerza Pública de Santa Cruz de que una mujer y un hombre estaban heridos de bala.
Juan Carlos Ceciliano, jefe de la Fuerza Pública de Santa Cruz, dijo que cuando llegaron al sitio localizaron los dos cuerpos tendidos en el piso de la cocina.
Allí estaba una mujer con dos impactos de bala, uno en el pecho y otro en el brazo izquierdo. Se encontraba sin vida, relató el oficial.
Ceciliano agregó que muy cerca permanecía un hombre con una herida de bala en la cabeza, pero aún con vida, por lo que se avisó a la Cruz Roja para que lo trasladara a un centro hospitalario.
El jefe policial dijo que cerca de una refrigeradora hallaron un revólver calibre 38, que se presume utilizó Vargas para matar a su madre y luego intentar suicidarse.
Juan Carlos Ceciliano agregó que le llamó la atención que en una mesa de la cocina estaba una candela encendida frente a una imagen de Santo Cristo de Esquipulas. Al parecer, alguien le estaba orando en el momento del suceso.
Causa. Felícito Zúñiga, un vecino quien vive a unos 20 metros de donde sucedieron los hechos, dijo que Rita Ortega Alcócer había llegado a su casa a las 10 p. m. para contarle que su hijo se iba a ir de la casa la mañana siguiente con su novia y eso la tenía angustiada.
“Ella vino hecha un mar de lágrimas a contarme que su hijo se iba de la casa con la novia y que la muchacha estaba allí con un hermano.
“Poco después escuché unos disparos. En ese momento pensé que era en un bar que está cerca de las casas, pero luego me avisaron que doña Rita estaba muerta y que al muchacho lo estaban trasladando al hospital muy grave”, explicó .
El OIJ dijo que se investiga una versión en el sentido de que la madre y su hijo discutieron por un asunto personal. Colaboró : el periodista Carlos Arguedas C.
“Sé que ambos tomaban pastillas porque padecían de nervios. Tenían control con un médico. La señora siempre estaba pendiente de lo que pasaba a su hijo. Ellos también iban juntos a recibir tratamiento al centro de Santa Cruz; sé eso porque me lo contó doña Rita”.
