Toxicology reports find antidepressant

Toxicology reports for Anthony Dixon, the Lansing assistant principal who killed two people at a Blackman Township residence in December before turning the gun on himself, showed his body tested positive for the antidepressant Bupropion, according to the Jackson County Medical Examiner's Office.

Federal health officials classify Bupropion as a "mood elevator" and say it is used to treat depression, smoking problems and attention deficit disorder. The toxicology reports also showed his body had trace alcohol levels of 0.022 percent.

Dixon, 34, of Holt went to the home of his former brother-in-law, James Ketchens, on Dec. 23 to confront his ex-wife and her boyfriend, George Turner III. Armed with a rifle and handgun, the assistant Gardner Middle School principal killed Ketchens on his lawn. The 40-year-old died from a gunshot wound to the chest. Dixon also killed Turner, 33, by shooting him at least six times, Turner's autopsy report said.
