BOISE -- The former executive director of Susan G. Komen for the Cure is going to prison for at least three years.

Mary Guinard admitted in November that she embezzled more than $170,000 from the non-profit agency.

She pleaded guilty to one count of grand theft and one count of forgery and said she wanted to move forward for all parties involved.

Fourth District Court Judge Thomas Neville ordered her to serve 14 years for the grand theft charge, with three years fixed. She received a 14-year indeterminate sentence for the forgery charge. That means she could be eligible for parole in three years.

Guinard was in charge of the Boise affiliate of the charitable organization for two and a half years.

Komen for the Cure raises money for breast cancer research, screening, education and treatment.

She agreed to pay full restitution, which prosecutors estimate the full restitution to be around $172,000.

Guinard says she suffers from depression and bipolar disorder and is taking medication for a brain tumor.

She will have to serve her prison sentence at the South Boise Women's Correctional Center.
