MUMBAI: The suicides of models Viveka Babajee and Nafisa Joseph have very eerie similarities. Joseph, a model-turned-veejay, had committed suicide on July 29, 2004, at her Versova apartment. Viveka had a fight with her boyfriend on Thursday and her body was found on Friday. Nafisa died on a Thursday.

Both, Viveka and Nafisa, had contested in nationwide beauty pageantsMiss Mauritius 1993 and Miss India 1997, respectively. They also participated in the Miss Universe contests in 1994 and 1997 respectively.

Both lived alone in Mumbai. Viveka's parents live in Mauritius and Nafisa's parents lived in Bangalore.

Both committed suicide by hanging and, in a more chilling similarity, when they found they couldn't tie knot with their boyfriends. While Nafisa's marriage was called off after she discovered the man she was seeing was already married, Viveka allegedly took her life as her boyfriend couldn't make a commitment.

Both their boyfriends share the same first name, Gautam. Nafisa was engaged to automobile spare parts dealer Gautam Khanduja, who was booked on abetment charges by the police. The matter is still pending in court. Viveka's bofriend Gautam Vora has been called for questioning.

Both the women had previous failed relationships. Both had ventured beyond the modelling world and onto the big screen. Viveka played the lead in 'Yeh Kaisi Mohabbat Hai' and also tried her luck in some South Indian films, but didn't achieve much success on that front.

Nafisa on the other hand hosted television shows like MTV House Full and Style, besides acting in the TV series C.A.T.S.

Both the women were animal lovers and had seven to eight pet cats in their flat. And both were known to consume sleeping pills and anti-depressants.
