The daughter of a suicidal Medicine Hat man who went missing for several weeks is relieved a Good Samaritan found him in Calgary and took him to safety.

Now, that Nicole Robinson's dad, Mike Boser, is on the road to recovery, she wants to thank the "good man" who took her dad to a Calgary shelter from a freezing parkade downtown.

"I just want to thank that man that saved him because I don't know if we would have ever found him if not for that man," said Robinson, 18.

For several weeks, Boser's family members in Medicine Hat were on tenterhooks, after he went missing Jan. 10.

He was last seen at a London Drugs picking up prescription anti-depressants from the pharmacy.

A massive search was launched and Boser's children distributed posters with his photo around the area.

But all of Robinson's worries disappeared when she got a phone call from him recently from Calgary saying he's well, back on his medication and is looking forward to returning home.

Boser, 47, told his daughter he was sleeping in a parkade when a stranger approached him asking if he was OK.

Seeing he was shivering, the stranger offered his jacket before taking him to a shelter, where he was looked after.

Robinson said she talked to her dad a couple of days ago.

"He's doing really well and I'm really thankful for that guy who picked him up."

Boser's daughter and son are planning to visit him in two weeks and make sure he continues onto the path of recovery.
