Body found in missing man search

Paul Smith, a married father-of-two, disappeared on Sunday
Police divers searching the River Avon for a missing father-of-two say they have found a body in the water.

Concerns were raised for 34-year-old Paul David Smith, from Melksham, when his clothes were found on a riverbank in the town on Monday.

Mr Smith, who worked as a linesman with SWEB Energy, had been depressed and taking medication.

Divers searched the river on Tuesday with no success, but a second search on Wednesday recovered the body of a man.

The man has yet to be identified and a post-mortem examination is expected to be carried out later.
