FARMINGTON, Utah -- An attorney for a Utah woman accused of drugging her two children with anti-depressants and then cutting their wrists says a plea deal is being negotiated with prosecutors.
KSL-TV says Todd Utzinger asked a 2nd District judge Wednesday to delay a planned hearing so an agreement can be finalized in Reggie Ann Peck's case.
The 36-year-old Logan woman is charged with two counts each of second-degree felony inflicting serious harm on a child intentionally and administering a substance surreptitiously.
Each charge carries a possible penalty of up to 15 years in prison.
Utzinger has entered not guilty pleas on Peck's behalf.
Deputy Davis County Attorney Richard Larsen declined to discuss the details of a deal. He says Peck has until June 1 to accept an offer or go to trial.
