MILWAUKEE (AP) A veteran Milwaukee firefighter has been charged with drugging his wife's tea with his anti-depressent medication because he says he wanted to calm her after an argument.

The criminal complaint charges 43-year-old Michael J. Dunn of Milwaukee with a felony. He was in the Milwaukee County jail Tuesday on $10,000 bail and was unavailable for comment.

Prosecutors say Dunn gave his wife a cup of tea Saturday. She in turn let their 3-year-old son drink from the cup. When he finished, Dunn's wife noticed he was spitting a white substance back into the cup.

The wife, a Milwaukee police detective, confronted her husband. He admitted putting Lexapro in the tea. She called police. Dunn told an investigator he wanted to calm his wife after an arguement about a bill.

The prosecutor says both wife and child were unharmed.
