Mills pleaded guilty to manslaughter today and was told that he will be sentenced to at least 20 years in prison for killing a 61-year-old man in his apartment on Elmwood Avenue in May.<br /><br />Mills, 30, of Moreland Drive admitted that he stabbed Anthony A. Locasio during a late night robbery in the victim&#39;s flat.<br /><br />He had been charged with second-degree murder.<br /><br />&quot;I stabbed Locasio on Elmwood Avenue,&quot; Mills told Senior Erie County Judge Michael L. D&#39;Amico.<br /><br />&nbsp;Mills told the judge he takes medication to treat what &quot;mild depression and anxiety&quot; his bipolar disorder causes, but he admitted he has never been institutionally treated.<br /><br />At the demand of prosecutor Colleen Curtin Gable, the judge agreed to sentence Mills to a prison term of at least 20 years. Sentencing is scheduled for Oct. 5.<br /><br />Curtin Gable told the judge she consulted with the relatives of Locasio, who all live out of state, before offering the plea deal. She told the judge the stiff prison term Mills faces serves the interest of justice.<br /><br />Cherie Utter, 24, of no permanent local address, remains jailed and &quot;she&#39;s still facing charges&quot; in the case.<br /><br />Mills and Utter were arrested about a month after the killing.<br /></font></div>
