Former Houston Secondary School teacher Ted Widen has been suspended again by the B.C. College of Teachers (BCCT).

In a disciplinary hearing held at the end of last year, Widen was suspended until certain conditions are met after he admitted to professional misconduct in 2006.

According to the BCCT, “Widen engaged in inappropriate written communications with students regarding personal issues not related to matters of education. He disclosed his use of anti-depressants; disciplinary issues relating to himself; and used sexually suggestive language and content with female students.”

This wasn’t the first time Widen was disciplined by the B.C. College of Teachers.

Widen was suspended for six months during the 1998-99 school year for fostering an inappropriate personal relationship with a 15-year-old student through the writing of journal entries and exchanging correspondence, which addressed improper and inappropriate subject matter.

At the time, Widen agreed that he had engaged in the conduct as accused.

Widen now lives in the Netherlands and is pursuing a career as a photographer
