Mark Richards, 27, who committed suicide last week in Perth, Australia, suffered chronic depression for years and was on medication for it.

This emerged from his parents, cricket great Barry Richards, and his wife, Anne, who disputed that he had had a drug-related problem or had been in a rehabilitation centre.

They were reacting to reports saying that he had.

Mark Richards's problems were not drug-related.
