Simon Monjack Autopsy Report: Cause of Death Oddly Similar to Wife Brittany

Today the autopsy report has come back on what took Simon Monjack's short life.

Prior to his death, Simon was not in the best of health. Understandably so, as this is often what happens when you grieve the passing of a loved one. Suddenly your life and health takes a back seat and nothing seems to matter anymore.

Radar Online has obtained the autopsy report which lists some of his prior illnesses as pneumonia, grand mal seizures and heart problems. Simon had some rather serious heart issues according to reports from family. He had a history of a leaky heart valve, which required triple bypass heart surgery. As a result of a fall her had a couple years ago, he had grand Mal seizures. In November 2009, which it's worth noting was not long before or after wife Brittany Murphy's death, he suffered a heart attack. In addition to this he also had just one kidney.

Radar Online reports that the official cause of death was community acquired bronchopneumonia. Other conditions contributing but not related to the immediate cause of death included cardiomegaly with focal myocardial fibrosis.

Radar Online is reporting that next to his bed was a host of prescription medications. These were made out in his name as well as to a "Trevor Williams," which one could argue was an alias. Sharon seems to have had some prescriptions made in her name and aliases as well. Among those by his bed were “Sharon Murphy,” and “Sharon Monjack.” This makes one think that something strange was going on. Sharon Murphy was Brittany's mom's legal name, but it seems that the Sharon Monjack name was bogus.

According to the Toxicology Laboratory Summary Report obtained by Radar Online, Simon had the following in his system: Cialopram (Celexa®), Duloxetine (Cymbalta®), and Trazodone (Desyrel®), all antidepressants; Diazepam (Valium®) and Lorazepam (Ativan®), both anti-anxiety agents; Hydrocodone (Vicodin®), Pregabalin (Lyrica®) and Actetaminophen (Tylenol®), all analgesics; and Propranolol (Inderal®), an antihypertensive agent. Each of these were at levels that do not indicate that they had a hand in his death.

What took Simon's life was community acquired pneumonia and severe anemia, which is eerily similar to Brittany's cause of death, which was "community acquired pneumonia, iron deficiency anemia, and multiple drug intoxication." It is somewhat astonishing that his heart condition didn’t play a role in his passing.

The question that begs answering is how could they both have such similar reports five months apart? No matter the answer, their deaths are tragic, but with a Romeo and Juliet type ending. They are now together eternally.

"I am calling on the media to stop the reckless innuendos, that my daughter and son-in-law misused any kind of prescription medications," Sharon Murphy told People.

Simon was laid to rest next to Brittany, as per his wish. They both rest in peace at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Simon was 40 years old and best known for Two Days, Nine Lives which he wrote, directed and produced.
