Paragraph two reads: "Wesley Woodcraft, 27, had been out for a few drinks but had not taken his medication for depression, Flintshire Magistrates’ Court, Mold, was told."
Paragraphs 10 & 11 read: "Phillip Lloyd Jones, defending, said Woodcraft had suffered a depressive illness for some three years and was receiving medical treatment."
"That day he had gone out for a few Christmas drinks and had not taken his medication."
SSRI Stories Note: The Physicians Desk Reference states that antidepressants can cause a craving for alcohol and can cause alcohol abuse. Also, the liver cannot metabolize the antidepressant and the alcohol simultaneously, thus leading to higher levels of both alcohol and the antidepressant in the human body.
