DORRIS, Calif. -- Authorities arrested a Dorris resident after he injured two deputies and charged another with a machete Thursday, February 24th.

Deputies say 20 year old Skylar Brown had reportedly overdosed on antidepressant medications. When they arrived at his home and began speaking to him, they say Brown charged them with a machete.

While Brown grappled with one deputy, another tried to taze him, which was unsuccessful. During the tussle, a vase was broken and authorities say Brown used pieces of the glass to cut one of the deputies on the face, neck and hand.

Brown also head butted another deputy, which caused injuries as well. He was finally subdued and taken first to the hospital to receive medical clearance. He was then booked into Siskiyou County Jail with no bail, on charges of Attempted Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Both deputies were treated and released from the hospital.
