ALDEN, N.Y. (WIVB) - A 51-year-old Lancaster woman has been charged in a crash that sent her Jeep into the air.

The Erie County Sheriff's office reports Lori Hawman crashed her Jeep in Alden on Monday on Walden Avenue. Firefighters say Hawman became distracted, went off the road and hit a large boulder, sending her airborne where she struck a tree, a mailbox and then landed on a parked truck. It took crews around 20-minutes to free her from the Jeep.

Police say Hawman admitted to being distracted and taking a lot of medication for pain and depression and she had been in a minor injury accident an hour and a half before wrecking her Jeep. Police say in that crash, she bumped a vehicle while tuning her radio.

Hawman has been charged with DWI for being impaired on drugs and failing to stay in the traffic lane.
