XENIA A 51-year-old Beavercreek woman on Tuesday changed her plea to guilty after she admitted she burned down her $400,000 home because her attorney said it reminded her of where her son committed suicide.
In the Greene County Court of Common Pleas, Nancy F. Skinner reached a deal with prosecutors for community control with mental health treatment and more than $15,000 in restitution to local and state fire agencies in exchanged for a guilty plea to attempted aggravated arson, a third-degree felony. The state dismissed another arson count.
The maximum sentence for the crime could be five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both. Judge Stephen A. Wolaver does not have to accept the plea deal. Sentencing is May 26.
