University student commits suicide
A university student jumped off the roof of a six-story building on Tuesday in zmir’s Bornova district allegedly for lying to his parents about university.
Yi it lhan (24) allegedly committed suicide fearing he wouldn’t be able to finish university because of his end of year exam results. He had reportedly told his parents, who live in the southern province of Mu la, that he had passed his exams and had successfully finished university and had a job in zmir.
Police and medical teams arrived at scene immediately after being notified of the incident, but lhan had already died. Police officers carried out an investigation at the scene and found lhan’s bag on the roof. Forty antidepressant tablets were discovered in the bag, but there was no suicide note.
