Motorcyclist Charged in Road Rage Incident After Crash

A 31-year-old Valley Stream man was arrested for vandalism during a road rage incident following a crash on the Southern State Parkway in Roosevelt on Sunday, New York State police said.
Paul Bennett was riding his Suzuki motorcycle westbound when he was involved in a collision with a Honda Odyssey on at Exit 21, Nassau Road, at 4:53 p.m., police said.
Bennett jumped on top of the hood of the minivan and smashed the windshield with his foot, police said.
A search of Bennett yielded a metal pill holder attached to his key ring with nine Lorazepam pills, an anti-anxiety medication, and one Effexor pill, an anti-depressant. Bennett told the Trooper these pills were his under a prescription from a doctor, police said.
Bennett was charged with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, two counts of prescription in non-original container and several traffic law violations.
He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on June 6.
