PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - A Punta Gorda man is in jail for allegedly poisoning his niece and nephew with anti-depressants. According to police reports, Richard Lee Massey did it because "they needed it."

Thursday morning, 13-year-old Samantha Massey, started to complain of a bad headache and feeling what she refers to as fuzzy. That's when police say she told the school nurse she thought her uncle poisoned her.

According to Punta Gorda police, it happened before the the kids went to bed Wednesday night. But what gave the girl the idea of being poisoned? Well, she told police her uncle has threatened it before.

When police went to his house to make the arrest, they confiscated over 50 bottles of prescription pills - leaving more in the house.

Massey is the legal guardian of both kids.
